What this article helps with

Use this guide when QuillDock shows stale items and you want to understand where they came from or why delete is currently unavailable.

This guide is for

Anyone reviewing Wix CMS items that still exist in the collection but no longer appear in the latest QuillDock source results.

What you'll see

  • Stale Queue shows items QuillDock believes are missing from the current source
  • Stale items stay separate from the main publish flow
  • QuillDock requires review and typed confirmation before a stale delete can run
  • The queue may stay visible but locked until QuillDock can safely allow delete

What it means

  • Main publish creates and updates items. It does not delete stale items
  • Stale delete is always a separate action
  • QuillDock requires a backup before any stale delete can start
  • Stale items are based on the latest successful preflight result, not on a draft edit or failed run

Why Stale Queue may be locked

  • No successful preflight result is available yet
  • The configuration changed after the last successful preflight
  • The latest preflight is no longer safe to use for delete review
  • The site is currently read-only
  • Stale delete is not enabled for the site yet

What to do

  1. Open Stale Queue.
  2. Review the candidate list and the context shown above it.
  3. Run preflight again first if QuillDock says the queue no longer matches the current configuration.
  4. Mark only the items you intend to remove.
  5. Type DELETE only when you are ready to start a separate stale-delete run.

When to contact support

Contact support if the stale list looks wrong, if reviewed items stay blocked after QuillDock says they are ready, or if the queue is locked and the reason is still unclear.
