What this article helps with

Use this guide when you need to roll the current Wix CMS collection back to an earlier backup.

This guide is for

Anyone who needs to recover collection content after an unwanted change or a failed publish.

What you'll see

  • Backups shows the current target collection and the backups available for it
  • QuillDock requires you to type RESTORE before queueing the restore
  • The restore appears in Run Detail after it is queued

What to do

  1. Open Backups.
  2. Confirm the current target collection is the one you want to restore.
  3. Review the available backups.
  4. Choose the backup you want to use.
  5. Type RESTORE.
  6. Select Confirm restore.
  7. Monitor the new restore run in Run Detail.

Good to know

  • Restore stays available even when QuillDock is read-only
  • Restore is tied to the current site and collection
  • After a restore completes, QuillDock requires a new successful manual publish before scheduling can run again

When to contact support

Contact support if the backup list does not load, the restore cannot be queued, or the restore run finishes with errors.
