Why QuillDock is read-only
Understand why you can still review data and history but can't make changes or publish.
What this article helps with
Use this guide if QuillDock lets you view setup and history, but setup changes, preflight, publishing, or scheduling are unavailable.
This guide is for
Anyone checking QuillDock after a trial change, subscription change, billing issue, or other access update in Wix.
What still works in read-only mode
- Reviewing the saved configuration
- Opening run history and
Run Detail - Opening backups
- Restoring from an existing backup
What is blocked in read-only mode
- Setup changes
- Preflight
- Manual publish
- Schedule changes
- Stale delete
Common reasons this happens
- The trial has not started yet
- The trial expired
- The subscription was canceled
- Billing needs attention in Wix
What to do
- Open
Plan & Access. - Review the current plan or billing message shown there.
- Use
Start 14-day trial,Upgrade in Wix, orManage billing in Wix, depending on what your site shows. - Reopen QuillDock after the billing change is complete so the latest access state can refresh.
Good to know
- Read-only mode blocks new writes, but it does not remove recovery history
- Restore stays available from an existing backup even while the rest of the app is read-only
- Paid plans differ by record limit, not by source type or safety features
