Choose a Wix CMS collection

Pick the Wix CMS collection QuillDock should publish into, or create one during setup if you don't have one yet.

What this article helps with

QuillDock needs one Wix CMS collection before you can finish setup and run preflight. You can choose an existing collection or, when available, create one from your source in Advanced setup.

This guide is for

Anyone setting up QuillDock for the first time or choosing a new target after collection changes in Wix.

What you'll see

  • Configuration / Target lists the collections QuillDock can read from your site
  • Choosing an existing collection is the main path
  • Advanced setup appears when QuillDock can create one new collection from supported source fields
  • Continue stays disabled until a collection is selected

What to do

  1. Open Configuration / Target.
  2. Review the available Wix CMS collections.
  3. If the collection already exists, choose it and select Continue.
  4. If you need a new collection, open Advanced setup.
  5. Review the supported source fields QuillDock can use to create the collection.
  6. Confirm the collection name, then select Create collection and continue.
  7. If QuillDock says the collection was created but not selected automatically, choose it from the list and continue.

Why the list may be empty or blocked

  • The site does not have a usable CMS collection yet
  • The previously selected collection was removed or renamed
  • QuillDock could not verify the collection
  • The saved source structure is not readable yet
  • The source fields needed for collection creation are not currently supported
  • The requested collection name already exists in Wix CMS
  • Wix CMS or the site code editor is not enabled on the site

If it still doesn't work

  • Refresh the collection list
  • Confirm the collection still exists in Wix CMS for the same site
  • Rename the new collection if Wix says the name already exists
  • Make sure Wix CMS and the code editor are enabled before retrying Advanced setup
  • Choose the created collection from the existing list if QuillDock reports a partial save after creation

When to contact support

Contact support if QuillDock cannot find any collections for the site, if the saved target keeps showing as missing, or if QuillDock says the collection was created but still cannot save it as the active target.
